Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identify Suspect in a Spree of Car Burglaries

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office an attempted car burglary occurred May 16, 2020, in the 1000 block of Broad Street in the Minor community. Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured suspect in the area during the time this crime reportedly occurred. According to report the pictured person lifted a door handle to a vehicle parked in the area but was unsuccessful in entering it because it was locked. Detectives believe this suspect is possibly connected to other car burglaries reportedly occurring in the same area. Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identity Suspect in a Restaurant Burglary

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jack’s Family Restaurant in the 2800 block of Pinson Valley Parkway was burglarized May 15, 2020 at approximately 11:45 pm. TVA Detectives Need Information Regarding Damage to an Energy Facility
May 26, 2020

According to officials with TVA Police the Valley Creek Substation in the 3000 block of 18th Street North Bessemer sustained damage from apparent gunshots. At approximately 8:00 pm May 19, 2020, TVA technicians received a low oil alarm at this location. Subsequent examination revealed damage to a substation transformer resulting in oil leakage onto the ground. Technicians determined this to be connected to the bullet holes discovered in the equipment. Detectives believe the gunshots damaging the transformer occurred between 5 pm and 7 pm on the same day. 9mm shell casings were found nearby, some compressed, leading detectives to believe the shots may have been fired from a vehicle. There have been previous reports of shots fired in the area, some of which have struck nearby businesses. Talladega Detectives Need Information Regarding Murder of Nijah Curry
May 06, 2020

On April 7, 2020, approximately 8:37 pm, Talladega PD received a call reporting multiple gunshots in the 400 block of Coosa Street West in Talladega. Witnesses told arriving officers that the shots may have come from a residence near the intersection of Coosa Street West and Jackson Street. Investigating officers went to a residence in this area and found a black male with multiple gunshot wounds apparently deceased. He was identified as Nijah Latajuan Curry, age 22, of Talladega. Detectives advise there was no indication this was the result of a robbery or burglary. Talladega Detectives Need Information Regarding Murder of Patrick Swain

On April 8, 2020, approximately 10:12 pm, Talladega PD received a call reporting multiple gunshots in the area of West Street in Talladega. Responding officers searched the area and located a black male down and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in Henderson Street near the intersection of West Street. The victim, identified as Patrick Demetrius Swain, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives obtained surveillance video evidence indicating a yellow or gold 4 door sedan was travelling in the area during the time Swain was shot and believe it could be involved. Detectives also believe this homicide could be connected to one occurring the day before involving a victim identified as Nijah Curry. Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identify Suspects in Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office a victim’s vehicle was burglarized April 16, 2020, approximately 8:20 pm, at a Walgreen’s in the 1500 block of Forestdale Blvd. During the burglary the victim’s purse and contents, including a bank card, were stolen. The victim’s stolen card was later used at a Shell gas station on 3rd Avenue West at Princeton Avenue. Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured male and female suspects they believe to be involved in the fraudulent use of the victim’s stolen debit card. Birmingham Detectives Need to Identify Suspect in a Car Burglary

According to detectives with Birmingham PD the pictured person is a suspect in the burglary of a victim’s vehicle during which an expensive pair of sunglasses was stolen. According to report this crime occurred April 26, 2020, approximately 8:20 pm, at the Venue in the 200 block of 16th Street South near the ballpark. This suspect is described as a bald and bearded black male wearing a white t-shirt, black and white basketball shorts, and black and white sneakers. Detectives obtained surveillance video of the same subject earlier the same evening attempting to break into vehicles parked at The Flats parking deck in the 1500 block of 4th Avenue South.
