Jefferson County Detectives Need Information in a Homicide Case
September 18, 2020

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, on July 21, 2020, at approximately 8:35 pm, Devon Johnson (pictured) was shot while standing in the parking lot of the Glen Oaks apartment complex.  The 22 year old died from his gunshot wound, the apparent victim of a homicide. A bystander was also shot during the same incident. According to detectives the shooter, described as wearing all black with his face and head covered, came out from behind a section of the apartment complex and began firing at Devon Johnson. Detectives believe Johnson was the intended target of the assailant. Jefferson County Detectives Need Information Regarding a Homicide Case
September 16, 2020

On August 28, 2020, approximately 3:40 am, Jefferson County deputies responded to a fully involved house fire at 1009 Grand Oaks Road in the Fairfield area. A victim was found by fire and rescue responders inside the residence in an upstairs bedroom. He was eventually identified as Kenneth Eugene Brown (pictured), a 60-year-old black male who was a resident of this address. Further examination of the area in which the victim was found indicated that he had been shot. Detectives believe that Kenneth Brown was the victim of a homicide and the fire involving his residence possibly connected to this crime. Detectives also determined that the victim’s vehicle, a black 4 door 2016 Jeep Cherokee, had been taken from the residence and believe its theft to be connected to the victim’s homicide. Midfield PD later recovered the victim’s burnt vehicle from the 1500 block of Midfield Industrial Drive. Further investigation revealed to them that the vehicle had been driven to this location on August 28, 2020, approximately 1:05 am, by an unknown person who intentionally set it ablaze. Detectives also believe that after setting the victim’s vehicle on fire this person was picked up by someone else and driven away from the scene. Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identify Suspects in Theft of a Vehicle

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office a vehicle was stolen from the lot of a business in the 5200 block of Pinson Valley Parkway at approximately 9 pm on August 24, 2020. The stolen vehicle is a blue 2001 Lexus IS 300. Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured suspects on the lot of this business during the time in which this crime is believed to have occurred. The pictured vehicle is connected to the suspects. It is described as an early model Toyota Tacoma truck. Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identify Suspect in a Business Burglary

According to a report filed with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office a business in the 5200 block of Pinson Valley Parkway was burglarized August 29, 2020, around 3:45 am. Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured suspect inside the business during the time the crime occurred. He is described as a slender white male, short, wearing a black ballcap, white t-shirt, and shorts. Detectives believe he may be a person that has been seen riding a bicycle in the area. Reported stolen during the burglary were tools and electrical equipment. According to report several vehicles kept in a lot on the premises of the business were also burglarized during this time. Jefferson County Detectives Need to Identify Suspect in Theft of Lost Property Case
